Default Selvedge Mug Rug

I have been saving selvedge (wasn't sure why) & made this mug rug. I really like the way it came out. I used the tutorial from the link below.

I'm toying with making a tote bag - a bit ambitious on my part - but might give it a try.

I will never get to make anything with selvedge as I am so cheap, that I cut them off at the next thread, so as to not lost any usable fabric. Sad, isn't it?
Love your little mug rug though, 'specially the corner set layout, makes it very interesting.

You would be surprised at how many you can cut of just half inch more and not waste usable fabric. When I'm making a project I measure the fabric and figure out how many cuts I can get of the dimension I need and if there would be left over I cut the selvage off as wide as I can get by with for those cuts. I would rather have the selvage to make cut little things with, that throw are and inch or two of fabric after I cut my pieces.

Those are cute. I have been making lots of things lately with selvages, it is getting addictive.
