Default A Sending Off Gift of Sunflowers

I just found out my mother's only living sibling was put on hospice care and is a tiny little 84 lbs., but still mentally sharp as ever. My own mother passed several years ago, but with my last aunt on her journey to heaven, I feel another huge loss. I made some inquiries & discovered my aunt's favorite color is yellow, and favorite flower is the Sunflower. I quickly created her a gift of comfort, everything coming from my stash...... no pattern, no photo, just an idea. I tied it due to the fact there was no time for quilting as time is of the essence. This is quite appropriate, however, as my mother was a quilter.... but tied each and every one of her quilts. I hope it brings a smile to my aunt's heart.

How beautiful--the quilt and the story.
I too "took care of" my grandfathers last sister before she died.
You've made a wonderful quilt and I know made your relative so happy (your mother too!).

It is beautiful. It brought a smile to my face. I love sunflowers. I am a native of Kansas and since that is the state flower there is a warm spot in my heart for that flower. I am sure she will love it.
