Here is a pic of a service quilt top I just completed. Our group collected orphan blocks and have decided to make small quilts for the emergency services in a small town near here. They asked for 5 adult and 5 child size quilts. The lady with the parasol was crayon created and hand embroidered by a long time member of the group I sew with. She has had a stroke and lost the vision in one eye but she still creates beautiful things. This particular block was made before her stroke but she said she would never finish it into anything. I think it perfect for a girl. I had fun bringing it up to size. We hope to have more tops completed by our next retreat so we can show retreaters what we have done with their donated blocks.

Good job at surrounding that beautiful orphan block so well, it will make some little girl very happy.
