I asked before what size now I was wondering if it has to be plain black. Would this also work?

I have never made a shadow box. I am sure that that fabric would work!!!!

i made this one, t-shirt quilt..i but the black strips 1.5".

gales quilt blocks will be 16", and she ws curious about the size of the black strips, and the fabric used. i think, so long as the fabric "reads" black it should be fine.
not sure about the size of the shadow strips..

my blocks were all different sizes..and i like the look of the 1" strips.
