Default Shark Ray Alley Belize quilt finished

If you've ever been to Ambergris Caye Belize, you may have heard of Shark Ray Alley. I went snorkeling there, and though I didn't see a whale shark on that trip, I did see lots of nurse sharks, rays, and huge tortoises gliding through the water. I made this hanging for our beach house because I wanted something on the wall that no one else would have on theirs. It doesn't hang completely straight - my first wall hanging - but in this case, I think it kind of works since the waves as it hangs kind of go with the waves quilted in it.

I remember when you posted in process pics of this. It looks great. If you want it to hang a bit straighter you can sew triangle pockets in the two lower corners and insert a dowel into them to kind of stretch it taut. The weight of the dowel will also help it hang straighter. You did a beautiful job on this.

Despite the fact that the place was called "Shark Ray Alley," the sharks were a surprise to me. LOL

That's beautiful, and it works well with the pillows.

Beautiful! That is so cool! It's perfect in the room with the white quilt and those pillows. What a great idea.

I love it! You did a nice job and what a great remembrance of your trip. If you want it to lie a little flatter, here is my trick. I always staple my quilts to the wall. The staples leave the tiniest of holes and I can staple each corner to help it lie flatter.
