My almost 13 year old DGD is here for a visit. My DH brought her in his semi where his quilt from me resides. She fell in love with it so I told her we would make her one when she got here. This beauty is the result. She picked the fabrics, the nine patch, the 6" block size, the backing and the quilting design. I helped pick the border fabric LOL. The bubble letters with the rays extending from them is one of her nick names, Ri Ri, and totally her idea. She got over her fear of the LA in time to quilt the last row of spirals herself, free hand. I don't have the label on yet but promised I'd get this on the sight for the world to see. She is very proud as you can see. We will be making a matching pillow case from scraps today. She is tall and still growing so it is 60" x 96". She really touched my heart through this process and I feel I know her better.
