I love making flying geese units, but have only used them in certain blocks in sampler quilts (Sawtooth Star, Dutchman's Puzzle). I would love to see all the ways you have used flying geese. Oh, and that's another question! Is one unit a flying goose??

Here is a picture of the Scrappy Flying Geese border I made on my very first quilt, a kingsize sampler,no pattern, just started making various blocks and made it fit our 5' bed! The geese were paper pieced in blocks of 6 if I remember correctly then stitched together :-D

I am off to check out yours now, your fabric choices are so pretty!

Love all the geese flying around, and the quilt colours are lovely.

I would like to know which sewing technique everyone either prefers, or thinks makes the least amount of waste fabric. I usually use the oblong and two smaller squares method, but have also been wondering about trying the one with a large and small square, which I've seen Eleanor Burns use.

Anyone any idea which is the most economical?

Here are a couple of quilts I have used flying geese on. The blue quilt is just a quilt top still to be quilted.
