These are so fun! I wish I had thought to take pictures of the few pieced backings I've done. Guess I'll start doing that before I give them away. I love seeing how creative you all are. Great job!

I like backing quilts with something that almost makes them 2-sided. I am not sure I can even find the pictures. I made my GGS an I Spy quilt and put a panel on the back that has construction equipment and roads on it.
The quilt I am working on now has a middle piece from a batiq with bright splashes of fushia, turquoise, yellow and purple. I then put purple piping around that, a small border of fushia and another border of turquoise zebra print. The back is another piece of batiq with different sized circles, the entire piece having the same colors as the front. On the outside of that I put a border of the turquoise zebra print, large purple rick rack, then another border of fushia.
I know pictures are worth a thousand words -- sorry.

Here is the one from my last quilt. I enjoy trying to add a bit more interest to the quilt by peicing the back a bit as well . Having upload issues when trying to add more...will try in a separate post.

It's very unusual for me NOT to piece my backsides. Whenever I give a quilt to a family member the first thing they do is to flip the quilt over to see what's on the back.
This weekend I'm working on a simple back made from 5" squares ranging in color from brown to white-on-white. It will only take 676 (insert crazed laughter here) I've only got about 100 more squares to cut. I feel like it's definitely a "Labor Day!"
