My daughter, when in her mid-forties, decided to go back to school and study ASL (American Sign Language). She had wanted this for many years but at college time, couldn't find a school.

We were so proud of her and I wanted to make her something special to let her know. This is the ASL alphabet ....
I found the letters online embroidered by a woman down south...
the sashings are Aunt Grace Signature fabrics......my daughter's name is Grace and her daughter, who is from India is Anne. The name of the fabric was Anne.....so I thought it quite appropriate.

I hand quilted in the ditch and I put burttons in each square of the sashings. I didn't want any quilting on the hands showing the letters.

The 2nd and 3rd photos are the back of the quilt...which reads,
"Grace, we are so proud of you. Love, Mom and Dad.

Hope you enjoy it......the signing fabric I found at Keepsake Quilting in NH. Searched a long time before finding it there.

MaryJane

this tells Grace that the quilt comes from her proud mom & dad

rather large for a label but it tells all. Not showing is the date also...2008

the front of the quilt...measures 40"x50"..approx.
