Default Simple blue patchwork quilt

I just finished the top of a simple patchwork quilt. I made this as a "break" after a harder quilt. What has surprised me is that I like this quilt as much as the complicated one I just finished. Go figure.

My quilt inspector, Hot Rod, sort of looks like he is taking credit for the quilt though.

The pattern is Double Slice Layer Cake from Missouri Star. It takes no time to make. Jenny starts with a layer cake, but I just cut out 10 inch squares of different fabrics. Thirty ten inch squares plus the two borders (inner 2 inches and outer 5 1/2 inches) ended up making a quilt that is 60" x 69". The video uses 40 squares I think, but I am not sure what size it ends up making.

Here is the site for the pattern. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxC-0T5lXw4

Your quilt is lovely. Hotrod does look like he's taking credit, lol! I agree that sometimes the more simple quilts are the ones I like the best.

Beautiful! One of my first efforts was the double slice and I'm still in love with it. Your colour choice is really nice.

I like this simple quilt also. I love your fabric choices. Of course your quilt inspector appears to be taking the credit. He supervised the job, after all.

Beautiful. I have made lots and lots of double slice quilts from Jenny's tutorial. It is fast, I cut my own squares also. I donated lots of quilt last year using that pattern.

I like the simplicity of your quilt, and all the pretty blue. You have a beautiful quilt inspector.

I'm a sucker for simple patchwork. Nice job. It's also very rewarding to have a simple quick finish.
