Skyline Sensations by Hoffman
Decided to make this quilt for my niece as she is the greatest "giver" ever. She works hard and is so king and helpful to everyone that I decided to do something nice for her. When I saw this pattern, I thought of her immediately because she has traveled the U.S. extensively and has also traveled abroad. This quilt spoke to me as a reminder of all the places she has been. (Photo of pattern)
I cut out and sewed the large blocks and also the small blocks. However, when I put them up on my design wall, I felt it was too dark and dreary for my liking. Just by chance, my local quilt shop had the skyline panels and so I bought one. This is the design that I came up with and I am happy with it. Just have to sandwich it and FMQ it. (Photo of quilt top of my choice.)

What a great use of the panel! It fits your photo theme and breaks up the smaller squares - making your eye move across the whole top. I'm sure she will love this vibrant quilt arriving out of the blue!
