This is the second one I have made. Quilting is so relaxing and this was ... can you say stressful? lol

GD has been dancing for 5 yrs.. This is her second dress.

Pretty dress and granddaugter. Please explain step dance. I am not sure I know what that is.

I love green and gold together. My first quilt is a green and gold log cabin. I have to fight the urge to use those two colors together in a quilt often.

I understand....I had to "fix" the skirt of an Irish dance costume. This is going back about 12 years...but it can still induce nightmares...it had a very heavy panel in front of the pleated skirt, and was horrid. The mother took the skirt away from the woman who was making them for the team.

Step Dancing is a form of Irish folk dancing.

It looks great and your grandaughter is beautiful in it! Just in time for the big day on Thursday. Nothing like a time crunch to keep you motivated.

You did a great job!! I made my DGD a prom dress a few years ago. Definitely not as much fun as making a quilt, but she looked so pretty in it!

You did a great job Judy! I started a competition dress for my daughter last summer and finally just gave up. I was out of my league. We ended up going to a feis last October and she was able to buy a new sample dress for $300! I couldn't believe it was such a great price. The cheapest used ones we'd seen were around $700. Anyway, kudos to you and your darling dancer!

That is great! I love how the fabrics and design go together.

In Appalachia they call it "clogging". You can also look up videos of the Irish version - google "River Dance".
