I made this shirt for my Mom. Her Birthday is tomorrow. The snowflakes are actually names of her husband (my Dad), her children, and her grandchildren. This is the first time that I have embroideried on a sweatshirt and I learned alot. There are a few mistakes but I gave it to her tonight and she loved it. I told her that I'd make her a new one now that I know what I'm doing and she said no way.

That looks very nice!!! How did you come up with the idea of making snowflakes with names? Was it hard to do?

Thanks everyone. I belong to a yahoo group a design in stitches and she has over 2000 names digitized in snowflakes, flowers and santa's. You have to belong to her group to be able to download them but they are free. Here is a link to the site and you can join her group from there.

Wow, that's amazing! I've never embroidered anything before... so this is going to be a really newbie question, but... when you get the pattern from her group, what do you do with it? Is it something you use with a computerized embroidery/sewing machine?

Yes, you have to have a computerized embroidery machine. I just have a cheap Brother machine that I got at Walmart and I have really loved it. There is just so much that you can do with it. When I bought it I thought that I would probably only do quilt labels but boy was I wrong. I have about worn it out making gifts.
