it's my own design. for all i know, there's a block just like it out there somewhere, but since i'm making it up as i go along i hope i'm correct in claiming that it's an original.

the fabrics are from Michael Miller Fairy Frost line.

i've named it Mineral Rights because the two prints on black are Copper and Gold.
Patrice, When we design something as we go and call it ours what IF there is another one just like it somewhere? Can we get in trouble? You know that copywright stuff?? By the way I LOVE your quilt.

the first designer would have to prove in a court of law that there's no way another person could possibly have come up with the design on their own. or that a published version of the design was so readily available that i would've found it with little effort.

looks too much like too many blocks in the public domain for me to worry about any of that.

By the way that looks great, can't wait to see it finished.
I cut squares and then make two at a time. By drawing a diagonal line from corner to corner, use the drawn line to sew a 1//4 seam allowance on both sides, and then cut down your line. Eleanor Burns has a way to do it that makes 8 at a time I think, but I can never remeber the math.

Other use thangles, those are sort of like stickers that you put on the fabric and sew on the sewing lines and then remove the thangles.

No wonder you're sick of them Patrice! :D
