Default A so-so Yellow Brick Road

I made this little "Yellow Brick Road" several years ago. I'd found the really cute fabric & wanted to use it to make a quilt for Project Linus. And since "YBR" is one of my favorites (for one thing, since some of the pieces are fairly large, it shows off fabric really nicely), it seemed like a good choice for the fabric. So I made it & I wasn't thrilled with it. It wasn't awful but it just didn't do anything for me. So after it was LA'ed, I just put it away & quite honestly, forgot about it. Fast forward... there is a gal at DH's work who has a baby who was born with a large variety of conditions & has been in & out of the hospital numerous times in her short life (she's not even a year old & had had 16 surgeries). Needless to say, even with insurance, their medical bills are out of this world. So DH's work is having a benefit for them. They were asking around for prizes & one of the gals asked DH if I would maybe contribute a quilt (DH has a miniature quilt I made him hanging in his office). He said yes & I was desperate for something to donate (since it's in a couple of weeks). Thank goodness I remembered this quilt, threw the binding on it & DH took it to work. The girls all loved it & were thrilled with it so I guess it just goes to show, one man's trash is another man's treasure. Or one quilter's ick is another person's "wow". Anyway, without further ado... my little "Alley Cat" quilt.
