We found an old church pew from an old Spanish church in Denver, and being the adventurous individual that I am, convinced my neighbor to go get it with me. (I'm always looking for an excuse to go to the big city) It is really pretty cool (in my opinion) but the back is really worn and thinned. (there's even gum stuck under the seat...yew!)

A few weeks ago, I made a strip tube quilt (it's at the quilters) and had some extra blocks left over. Lightbulb... I made a few pillows, covered up the bad wood on the back of the pew, then made a little quilt (1st attempt at applique). It has really brightened up the foyer where the pew is. I just love color!

Same here, and your tripping over them when I leave them. But I wish I had that one. The pillows and little quilt are perfect.

You have really dressed up that old pew. The stories it could probably tell you! Love your pillows!

Love your pillows. Bright and cheery.

What was the name of the old church and where in Denver? I am originally from Denver and was wondering.

I love what you have done here, giving a new lease of life to the pew, wonderful character all round!

PS, bkb, I'm like you, I can fit a pot plant in mine and thats about it! Room for one of my small rag rugs though, so that brightens it up!
