Some finished projects
I made a couple of string quilts. The middle of the first is made from years worth of leftover pieces of quilt bindings. I added some quilted sections to make it larger, and some orphaned blocks I've had for years.I embroidered some of the plain squares for fillers. I used up tons of small pieces of batting. I did actually buy a backing, but everything else was dragged from my stash. The second quilt is made from lots of flannel scraps plus some larger pieces. I've used maybe an unusual method, quilted the sections as I went, then put them all together with a backing, and knotted them. These will go to my local House of Carpenter.
The little wall hanging was made for my Mom, for her 89th birthday, from blocks she made maybe 50 years ago or more. One was smaller than the other so I added some sashing.
