    some of my practice

my first attempt at FMQ with the little green piece. using it as a chair seat cover for the cats. the pink piece is a doll blanket and i just machined some decorative stitching. learned that its not ptetty at itersectons. the red one is lap size and I will do something simple and donate it. I have only completed a tshirt quilt on my own so looking forward to being brave and trying to complete this pieced one.

Oh I love your butterflies! Fantastic job! I envy you.
My first attempt at FMQ I tried meandering on a cute quilt I made for my niece. I didn't practice or anything. I just figured ... What trouble could it be? I'm so dumb. It was a complete disaster. But I was soon too committed to stop as we were leaving to see her the next morning. I broke every needle I owned finishing it. I still don't know why. I didn't attempt FMQ again for over a year! Now I practice on old scrubs hubby has lying around and I took a class. I'll never be pro but that's ok. My motto is.... "Everything puckers in the wash"

Good job! I am learning machine quilting on small quilts I make for my cat's kitty condo. Since she likes laying on my quilts so much, I thought I make a few just for her. I didn't think I would like machine quilting but I do, and it's all about building skills.
