    is in recovery for addiction. She's living in a recovery house with other women. I'm so very proud of her, as addiction is a horrible disease. I found this fabric online and am going to make a wall hanging for the house. When she leaves, she can leave it at the house as a reminder to those who come after her. I haven't decided on a pattern yet, but possibly attic window.

    that is so cool.
    She may even want to use it to sleep with, as it was made with her in mind.

    I'm sure everyone will love the wall hanging, and I hope she knows how much someone loves and cares for her.

    Your a great friend. She will need your support now more than ever. Great idea to make the quilt. There will be a lot of rough days ahead. Anything to encourage her will be very helpful.

    That is the part of the Serenity Prayer that we all are familiar with. The complete Serenity Prayer is:

    God grant me the serenity
    to accept the things I cannot change;
    courage to change the things I can;
    and wisdom to know the difference.

    Living one day at a time;
    Enjoying one moment at a time;
    Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
    Taking, as He did, this sinful world
    as it is, not as I would have it;
    Trusting that He will make all things right
    if I surrender to His Will;
    That I may be reasonably happy in this life
    and supremely happy with Him
    Forever in the next.
    Amen.

    --Reinhold Niebuhr

    As a parent of two grown children who deal daily with addiction and sobriety I take a lot of comfort from the complete prayer. I have plans to embroider it on a wall hanging for each boy. Ann in TN
