Default Something a little different

We received this quilt, it's made out of place mats with chenille sashing. I didn't want to quilt on the chenille, my thinking being, it would alter the lay of the pyle. Which would look out of place and aesthetically not right. So a pattern was made up and quilted on each individual mat. The customer is in Florida and asked for the light weight poly batting and will bind the quilt herself.

This was the 1st one of these and it was a lot of fun, something a little different.

I never would have thought of using placemats, but it looks wonderful. Very interesting use of materials.

Looks really elegant - but I wonder what will happen when it is washed??? Maybe they pre-washed everything. Hope so.

I washed the backing, I don't know if she washed the top. I would use the "delicate" cycle if not hand wash.
