Something for nothing
#1
Isn't great to get something for nothing! I just got 2 pieces of Vetbed for our 2 yorkies and they came in these very good quality thick plastic holdalls, zips & carryhandles. They will be ideal for transporting applique bits & pieces, storing strips, etc, etc. Cannot imagine what a craft shop here would charge for the like!
Have you got a good freebie in the sewing room?

A little tip for storing your fabrics in those sealed plastic totes: If you are going to keep things in there long term, add one of those little Silica gel packs that come in new purses and in shoe boxes.
They will help keep mildew from growing inside the plastic. I put them in my plastic storage bins where my UFOs and future projects are stored.

Thanks for that Quiltmaker, good tip- do save the little gel packs. I will probably only use them for WIP applique bits & leave tops open also.
(My flat plastic storage boxes have ventilation grills on the lids)
