This is a pictorial seascape quilt I just completed for my good friend in Indiana who has a love of seagulls and lighthouses. It is fabric collaged with Mistyfuse and glue, then embellished with threads, glitter tulle, organzas, and rhinestones. The seagull was first hand drawn, then cut from batiks that resembled soft fur, then thread painted. The seagull's tummy was made from batting covered with white tulle and the entire seagull was stuffed trapunto style to create dimension and loft, then appliqued onto the sky. Distant background seagulls were hand painted with Tsukineko inks. The quilt is borderless and measures 21-1/2" by 32."

I plan to ship this to her this week. Keep your fingers crossed for me that it doesn't get lost!

As a lover of lighthouses....the sea....and gulls, I would absolutely treasure this. Truly fabric artistry!
