Thought I would share some quilts I made for the Special Needs Classroom at my local elementary school. My husband volunteers there in a classroom three mornings a week and had a chance to visit the Special Needs classroom last year. He came home telling me that they really needed some new quilts! I insisted he ask them if they would allow me to make a few quilts for them, and they were thrilled (they gave me a size they preferred).

So if you are looking for a place close to home that would appreciate a good quilt, you could ask your local elementary school!

Thanks. My criteria was that they be bright and colorful -- and not baby-ish! Most of the patterns were from various quilting magazines I have purchased.

I would have loved to have some more quilts in my classroom. When I was closing my classroom for the summer, I started to take my quilts home to wash and the kids really missed them.
