For my version of the star I had the points at the outside edges, Leah did not have any points when she cut hers. I did not press seams open, to one side like I always so.
The seams do not 'match' perfectly but having the star all the same fabric it 'looks like' they match. The seams are not too far off, you can see some of the seams in the white stars.
After your paper pattern has been cut, just use the outside pieces around the edges of the squares, no need for the center star portion to cut more blocks.
Guess I best take time from canning to go up and make a new paper pattern so I will be ready to finish my top.
Two batches of conserve are starting to pop their lids so all is well with the canning for today.

Hope I have made it a little more clear about my star, if not, feel free to pm me.

What does stack and slash mean? Is that a certain type of quilt or can it be done with any quilt? Also I've heard of something like stack and whack, is that the same thing?

Thanks!

[QUOTE=meganc731;6933794]White on white? At first I read it as World of Warcraft

I have not heard of the World of Warcraft, thank you for clearing up the meaning of WOW. Us veteran quilters do not think about our up/coming quilters with the terms we take for granted.

Stack/slash, much easier and quicker to do, is a spin on the original Stack and Whack. Have made the 'real' Stack and Whack, really like how mine came out but like the star done with the slash method.
