I've had several members ask about my avatar. Here are three raggy quilts I sold last year. One is similar to the one in my avatar; the other one is a patriotic quilt; the 3rd is one of the ABC quilts I've made. I still love to do traditional, but never seem to finish them. With the raggy quilts, they are finished when you sew the last line around the outside.

Love your quilts. Rag quilts always look so cozy.

These all happen to be cotton on the top and flannel on the back and inside. That is normally how I make my raggy quilts. Though sometimes I do flannel for all three layers. Since I live in southeast Texas, where winter is so short, I don't add batting to the inside. But for the north, that would make a warm quilt.

Your raggy quilts are fantabulous!!!!! They are some of my favorite quilts, too!! I made a memory quilt for my 13-1/2 year old peke-a-poo Winter who died this past January. It was flannel on both sides, but also had squares of batting in the centers of each block. El Paso is in Texas, too, but our winters are colder than for southeast Texas!!!

I love them too. Does the flannel fray out very much? Seems like cotton would get a lot fuzzier than flannel. Comments on this please. thanks
