These were my first 2 stack and whack tops. When I was going through my fabrics, I thought, why in the world did I buy this fabric? But I love them in these blocks.

Very pretty quilts. Isn't it amazing how we buy things we like, then can't remember why we liked them in the 1st place. But you put them to such good use.

I like them when they're seperated with sashing better than when they're sewn all together and look like a new piece of fabric. I'm going to try that someday, maybe with man colors because it looks like a saw blade!

Very pretty! Don't you just love how the stack and whack pattern can turn a not so pretty fabric into something spectacular? When I fabric shop I always point out to my friends "That would make a good stack and whack...that would make a good stack and whack." Seem my eyes just get drawn to them now.

Do you mean when the blocks are separated by sashing?

I keep looking at these quilts. What do you use to cut out the shapes? How do you put them on the background? Are they appliqued on or pieced? I want to make one, but am so afraid I will end up with a hot mess! lol.
