I finished my Mom's star quilt this morning - only have the label to put on it. Just a brief reminder - the diamond shapes my g'ma cut out to make a tumbling block quilt. However, she died(1945) before ever finishing the quilt. My mom was only 7 at the time.

About 10 yrs ago, one of my aunts gave me these diamond shapes and I turned them into this star quilt for my mom. I will see my mom in a couple weeks. Quilt will be in tow along w/ lots of kleenex

Some day the quilt will dress this bed at my house.

What a great job! Your quilting is much better than mine. I'm sure she will love this quilt.

Good job all around. You rescued those blocks, created a beautiful quilt that will be very special to your mom and will also be a wonderful family heirloom. Lots of history in this quilt. I may need a Kleenex myself.

Wouldn't you love to hear the stories that those pieces could tell?

My mom doesn't remember these fabrics - I'm hoping that one of my uncles remember - they are about 10 yrs older than my mom and were in their mid to late teens when their mother died.
