That's really beautiful, Wendy. You've inspired me to try some designs with my walking foot! Right after I get this quilt I'm doing now quilted with the swirls I'm practicing. lol

I was working on a design very similar to this for one of my quilts. The flower is similar but none of the beautiful background detail that you have. It's gorgeous!

Vicki,
I'd love to see yours when you get it done! I think you are right in choosing not to do so much background work in a larger quilt. These pieces were definitely an experiment to see how much I could do with it.

not Wendy, but I use that stitch all of the time. it is the serpentine stitch on the machine. Some machines don't have it. And, of those that do, some don't allow you to alter it in width and length. Thankfully, mine is fully changeable on my Juki Exceed. It is my very favorite stitch.
