Default Star log cabin, finished(back from the LAQ

Just got it back from the long arm quilter last Saturday. Was able to get the binding on, so pleased with it. I think she did a nice job accenting the design. Had the funniest thing happen.....I had made the binding(of course) when I pieced the quilt, a few months ago. When I sat down to sew the binding, I just knew I would run short and have to make another strip. I usually have some binding left over. Would you believe it came out PERFECT! Didn't cut any off, just fit in the joining as if custom made. WEIRD. Never, ever had that happen before. The light is actually more dark gold with a tiny black star. Shows up light because I had to use a flash to get a clear photo....Also had it quilted with Hobbs batting, and it is very huge and heavy.

I have never had that happen. I have had a quilt so long at the LAQ that when I got it back made a binding, sewed it on and then found the original binding months later. Lol. That shows what shape my sewing room is in.

Wow, that's pretty and cheery. You are right, the quilting looks great with the design.

That's so funny because I started sewing a black binding on a quilt one day and remembered I had made a different color for it. I TRY to remember to mark them now

.... Forgot to add that I love your quilt. Yellow is my favourite colour. The quilting is beautiful.
