Default Star Spin that I learned from Roolan's Tute

This is a Star Spin I made as a gift for a friend. It's 41" across, hope it's not too big for her table. I've made several and finally learned to construct them just as I would a pinwheel, then the centers match more evenly. Those pesky corners are still a problem, you just have to mess with them. My latest improvements on my technique are to get the strips sewed together, (1) press well, (2) STARCH them well (3) then cut. I don't have any of the "fancy" rulers, I just use the lines on my cutting board and long rulers. I imagine you could get greater accuracy with the other rulers.

Very nice. I have had that pattern for about 25 years but have never made it up. Saw one on this Board a few weeks ago done in Christmas colors that was also stunning. So I may get to it this year.

Great fabrics and scrappy look. No two alike is very appealing.

Gorgeous! I have this pattern too, but haven't used it yet. I see so many different color combinations and they all look good, but I'm a bit intimidated to start.
