Default String table runner and table topper

Here are pictures of a string table runner and table topper that I just completed, pieced to match a bargello wallhanging I made several years ago (I included a picture of it). Quilted w/C&C variegated blue, Soft & Bright batting, "Dwirling" free motion quilting. Many firsts in this. 1st string project, 1st "Y" seams (not my favorite), 1st inside corners to bind, 1st real project that I quilted on my new-to-me 15" Bailey. I love string quilts and I've been wanting to do one for awhile. A purple and green batik bargello is my next project. It will match my first log cabin quilt.
Thanks for looking,

Pretty! I am a new quilter, and I am not sure what "String" means, but these are very pretty.

A string quilt is comprised of different widths (I used 1" to 2" - the blocks ended up being 4" sq) of fabric stitched on a base. In this case, I used phone book pages as a base. Stitch the center "string" and then add additional "strings" on each side. Remove the paper back, then press and square up. The next string will be a lap sized quilt and I will use 8" sq blocks. You can make them scrappy or to a color theme. I know it sounds weird, but I don't like scrap quilts, but I love string quilts. Go figure.
