    Thanks for everyone's input and even a compliment! Unfortunately I still feel confused about it and think I'll just make a couple of sample blocks to see if I like the circles....if they turn out "wonky", I might do a "chicken" ditch around the blocks!!! I'll post when I finish it.

    A Chicken Ditch is when a quilter is too "chicken" to try free motion on an entire project! haha - but then again, I bet Leah Day (the talented quilter who is creating 365 free motion fillers) could do something creative with a name like "Chicken Ditch" - like put some forks on a ditch stitch or something! lol

    I like your idea of the straight "greek" squares. Quilt the inside of each block and the inside of each triangle. My feeling is that circles etc would be too busy for this runner. I just finished one with similar blocks. I quilted with matching thread (blue) worked out beautifully.
