Default "Sunset Over Sedona" My first & probably last designed by me.

This is one I made for some friends of ours who have such a generous spirit, but are probably not on the receiving end very often. They are some who can buy for themselves anything they want. I decided I wanted to make them a quilt, but not just an ordinary quilt. No flowers & not girlie. Her heritage is Native American and she loves Sedona, so I found this panel at MSQC. I made the attic windows from the biggest part of the panel, then I used a couple other components from the panel above and below the attic windows. The other parts, i.e. Mountain Majesties are quilted with snow flakes and melting snow, flying geese going in both directions, bordered with black, which I used a variegated gray and black quilted snowflakes. The outside black border is quilted with a meander of gray and black variegated thread. I wanted to put arrows somewhere on it and my husband came up with the borders with the arrows. Above and below the arrows going up and down I fmq'd feathers. This is my first attempt at designing somewhat my own "thing". It doesn't look much like it did on paper originally. I like this one much better! But, not sure I want to do my own thing again. At least not for awhile. 😜

Wow! What a GREAT design! The attic window fabrics really draw you in with the lights and dark contrast. The arrows on the border? Excellent idea. The colors are so rich and earthy--perfect for your Native American friend. I'm sure they will be beyond thrilled to receive your gift.

This is so perfect. As someone who adores Sedona, I can attest to how appropriate it is. Wonderful!!
