    Sunshine and Windmills

I haven't been too quilty lately lol. I was looking through my books and found this little deal and thought I would make something small, like a table runner. I had seen these before somewhere and I think you had to buy a pattern and template....but my brain said, "it is in one of your books" and sure enough it was.

The book, Confetti Quilts, by Mary Mashuta. The book has a pattern. I copied the pattern and glued it to the plastic sheet and cut it out. I would then trace around the template with a micro pen and cut out four at a time with the rotary cutter and ruler. I didn't have to buy a template...waste not, want not lol.....

The thing this, with this little pattern is....you have to build the design on your wall or you will get confused..

you need four different fabrics or more. I used four to try it out. I cut out a bunch with the template out of the four and put them on the board. Now you see how you have to match each fabric to the pinwheel. After you match them, you then remove block by block onto a board, sew that block, put it back on the wall and do another and so on. Then sew the blocks together and then the rows......

You can see how the red takes over? Consider that if you make one of these. It worked fine for me, I wanted the red. Also, the red is next to it's compliment of Green and that makes the red very attractive. The red is also brighter than it's compliment..

So we have a color and it's compliment, hot and cool colors. Since Red is the hottest, it will take over from the cool colors.

I like the way you used the colors to really show the complements in this piece. I have Marys' book and also want to do some studies from it. I like her work.
