Default Surprise 50th Anniversary Quilt, finished early, yea!

Just finished last night---50th anniversary quilt for my brother in law and his wife. Not happening until November, wanted to have it done. I embroidered 7 different assorted squares downloaded from the Janome website, and alternated them with a quilted feathered star design, which was built into my Janome 11,000 SE. I had so much fun building this quilt(watching the machine embroider). I changed the colors from the suggested pattern. I wanted something very subtle. I incorporated a small amount of soft gold in some of the squares, in honor of the anniversary. I used Battilizer, batting and stabilizer combined, from Hoop Sisters. I sewed the squares together, added a backing and quilted in the ditch. Thanks for looking

Very nice; what a great gift for them to treasure. Does the Janome do the feather pattern as well?

Very nice. I've used that feather stitch on some of my quilts too.
