Each year 9 of us girl cousins get together and go on a 2 day fishing trip. I am making this lap quilt for the cousin that organizes and makes all the reservations. As usual my calculations did not turn out right, and I needed another 1/2 yd each of the fish material, and the green material. Not wanting to wait until I could get back to the fabric store I framed the top in black and added a 5 in border all around with the fabric I am using on the back. I plan to bind in the dark pink fabric. As soon as the weather breaks I will go and pick up the batting and start quilting. Please pay no mind to the plaid spread on my bed under the top.

That's very cool! You did a great job! The idea of the dark pink binding sounds great!
Stay warm in all that snow up there! I have family in the Wausau area, they're not enjoying the shoveling! LOL

That's the perfect fabric for your quilt. I love it!

It's perfect. Sometimes when we're forced to be creative the design looks even better than we originally planned.

Your outer border reminds me of fish scales...was that your intention or a pleasing coincidence!!! Either way, looks great. How cool you women go on a fishing trip!!

I ordered it cyber Monday from Connecting Threads, I actually got it because it reminded me of air bubbles, scales works for me though
