Default Swooning Tree Skirt

Quilt Stats
Pattern Name: Swooning Tree Skirt, my own design
Dimensions: 60" point to point
Fabric source/name: dunno. pulled from stash
Pieced and quilting by machine
I started this in Jan of '14. Swoon block was very popular right then. All squares, HSTs & sashing so top went together easily & quickly. Then I decided I didn't like the fabric choices. Too red. Too bright white. Maybe a dark maroon & cream would have been better. Let the top age until this fall. Quilted it and actually violated my personal prohibition of hand finishing the binding. Too many points to do by machine. Now that it's done, I quite like it.
Not sure where I will use it this year. The center star is actually a slit to put the artificial tree trunk thru. I also have one of those square gathering tables and this fits on top perfectly. Or maybe the piano bench... Decisions, decisions.

Great tree skirt but it would also look great on your table!

That is so pretty. I will have to keep that on my list as I have been doing a lot of tree skirts the past couple years

What a very pretty pattern you designed. I couldn't cut the center for a tree. It is just so pretty. Enjoy for years to come.

Very unusual and pretty quilt! Love the edge design. I'm sure it will look good where ever you place it. I also like the way you put a slit in the center instead of slicing from center to edge. You will be able to use it any where, any time of the year.
