    In my rag quilts I do not use any batting, I have made them with and without. I have found that without batting they are softer.

    Thanks for your reply, justme.....I have always used another flannel as the batting and they are heavy. Yours seemed to be so soft and snuggly. Next time, I will not use a batting......I like yours!

    Your quilts are beautiful and loved already I can see. I really love the blue trees quilt and am going to keep reading to see if I see anything that shows where to find the pattern. The quilting on the pinwheel quilt is beautiful!
