Default Things i made my newborn daughter

My very long awaited daughter Adelaide Rose was born on wednesday morning a 6:11 after 11 hours of easy peasy almost no pain labor! She actually delivered herself pretty much as she was just too eager to come out and didn't want to wait any longer lol! Her quilt i have been hoarding fabric for 10+ years waiting or her to be on the arrival train but i finished her name banner the day before her birth and her car seat cover the week before. I hand embroidered the car seat cover; padded satin stitch for the "please", satin stitch on the "do not touch me" and regular backstitch for " if you didn't help make me then". I also embroidered each flower petal on the hydrangea bloom. Not too happy with it as it looks better closer up but from far away the variations in color don't show as well. I quilted down the seams of the embroidered panel so it holds together nicer than the one I had made my son 2 years ago. The name banner is rosebud fabric i found at joann's, machine appliquéd letters with hand quilting around and i made the bias binding with a lovely perfect matching polka dot i found in my stash. I like to add a vintage vibe with a crochet lace trim as well. I only have 5 blocks done for her quilt but they are hand-embroidered, half hand appliquéd and then machine appliquéd so they were a little intense. Once i at least have a quilt top finished i'll post pics of that too

How cute! You probably had to sneak your handwork time in while the 2 year old was sleeping. Children grow up so quick, I know you will enjoy these.

Congratulations, and enjoy your wonderful daughter. Your projects are lovely. I don't know where you find the time, with a 2-year-old.

Wow you've been busy! Congratulations, and enjoy your new little person. The nursery letters are very pretty. And the "do not touch" is a great idea. Great job on everything!

Love it all and Good for you with the lovely "do not touch" I have no idea why perfect strangers have to try and be so near our precious newborns.
