beautiful tote...you can put a zipper in even though the bag is finished...check out Nancy Zieman for recessed zipper instructions...

Beautiful fabric choices and lovely tote bag. It seems such a versatile size for all kinds of uses. There are lots of options for closures for sure.

Beautiful bag! But it definitely needs a closure. I had a big bag like that and it tipped over in a restaurant. EVERYTHING fell out. How embarrassing! I put a zipper on mine and use it as my "purse" when flying. It holds a lot of things.

The bag is absolutely gorgeous, and my favorite colors too. I think a magnetic closure would work well and attach easily. Great job.

The pattern is Sweet Retreat from Whistlepig. They show 3 ways to make the tote; 2 1/2" strips (I did), charm squares, and a whole piece of fabric.

It gives directions for a velcro tab. I wish there was a photo so I could see it. I'm leary of sewing something on top of this now.

I think you will get lots of compliments on this one. Perfect with jeans for the summer! If you want to put a magnetic closure onto it you still can. make two tabs with the magnet on either one, and then attach it to the inside and put on like they do belt loops sewing to the top side only and the tabs hanging down. I have a couple purses I bought made like that.

Love your tote! I have used Whistlepig patterns before and really like them.

You have been busy making this tote and the quilt and tote in the previous posting!
