    do my eyes deceive me, or does the color come from under the top fabric?

    Yes, the colored fabric is under the whole cloth top. I used very bright colors, which look pastel under the top which is muslin. I bought the top with the design drawn on it, at a quilt auction in an Amish community for $5. I bought two of them!

    That is just beautiful. I trapunto but haven't tried it yet. Great quilt. Thanks for sharing.
