Default Traveling Turtles for grandson

I started Traveling Turtles from amy bradley designs back in March at a three day retreat. Everyone else had quilt tops to show at the end; I had zip-lock baggies of traced, cut and fused pieces for the quilt LOL The pattern has two options but I needed to make it large enough for a twin bed, so added the last row of turtles (ambulance and taxi) and the 8" black and white border. I thought the last border looked like a zipper, but once it was on it resembled RR tracks, so I added RR crossing signs as cornerstones. Every piece is hand traced, hand cut, fused with Heat and Bond Lite, and satin stitched. The lettering is done FM with black thread. The turtle eyes will be 1/8" black buttons once it is quilted, which won't be a few months yet. It is a Christmas gift for our 2 1/2 year old grandson. Just glad it is done........a labor of love for sure.
