Last year after Christmas, we gave away our longtime tree skirt. I totally forgot about that until THIS year when we had a tree without one!

Someone else has done this method within the past few months, and that's where i got the idea! Took a "squarish" section of poinsettia fabric and a matching white muslin, and used batting ends zig-zagged together for the middle...

Used a marking pencil on the WRONG side (green lead...wouldn't you know it? lol! )

Not pictured is me folding the whole thing in half, then in 1/4 and ironing an "X" into the center. Then I placed a safety pin and flipped over.

Attached 2nd safety pin to the first one and created an easy arc with a piece of cotton yarn tied to the marking pencil and safety pin.

Used the short end of the string to make the center...that worked out, didn't it?

Drew a line from the center safety pin to the edge, cut with scissors then serged everything.

By this time I was so excited that I'd have a project done in a day, I forgot to take pics! So, I made a standard binding and used a measurement of 5x the diameter of the skirt and had about 12-15 inches left over. This part was super fast because instead of doing 2.5" strips, I did 2.75 and I just put a little cut on the end of the fabric and then RIIIIIIPED! Everything was super accurate and it took me 2 minutes to do it this way instead of 10. For the win!

(Now it's under the tree, all covered up with gifts. Oh, the irony!)
