I am really doing the happy dance now. My neighbor knew how much I liked old sewing machines and she gave me this machine. I need some help dating it and getting a belt for it. everyting seems to move good it is missing a shuttle cover but that is all I can find wrong with it. Of course the gold is missing from the decals, but I will try to find more. Thanks for looking.

Seahug,

According to the Singer website, your machine with SN AC522554 is a model 127 with 15000 alloted in Elizabethport manufacturing plant in Elizabeth, NJ on March 6, 1929.

Congratulations on your gift!

Your machine is a 127. It was manufactured in 1929 between March 6th and March 8th. It's serial # is clooser mto the beginning of the run versus the end so I'd guess probabbly the 6th or early on the 7th. There were 15,000 manufactured in that batch of 127s. Check out the Vintage Sewing Machine Shop here on the quilting board - it's dedicated to all the old ladies (sewingmachines) that are saved plus there's a ton of info on that forum.
