    I will try that next time, plus I like to really stiffen it first with plenty of spray starch!

    pressing, especially with sizing or starch helps a lot even without your good tip.

    You can also use 1.5 inch fusible interfacing on the bias line and this helps the bias side from getting "wonky"

    Well, Tartan, that just makes so much sense! I remember we used to use "stay stitching" on stretchy areas when we made clothes in home ec (oh, I'm dating myself), but never thought of it with quilting. Thanks for the reminder!
