I stopped by a local antique store yesterday on a whim. I found this quilt made up entirely of fair ribbons.
It was very impressive as some of them were from 1907.
The owner of the shop was very gracious to let me photograph it as I told her I wanted to share this with everyone here.
It is pretty impressive. The shopkeeper did make an observation that is the name on the quilt of the family or the cow that won the ribbons?

The buttons that are on the ribbons were left on. You can see a cows head.

That is truly a unique find. I am always amazed at the things that people can make a quilt from.
    Thanks for sharing with us.

WOW - 1904? That is impressive. Don't know a thing about whose name it would be.

That is a wonderful find. It almost looks like on one of the red ribbons is says "Second Premium Herd", so I would guess these are for the cattle.

How cool! My kids did 4-H and horse shows and I can't tell you how many ribbons they won that sat around in boxes until they were finally lost, ruined or just tossed! I wish I had been a quilter back then and had the imagination to turn them into quilts! What a wonderful keepsake!
