Pocket lap quilt

Pocket lap quilt
A friend asked me to make a lap quilt with a pocket for her 93 year old grandma, she said that her hands were always cold and a pocket would help keep her hands warm. I never made a quilt like this but she kind of walked me through it and told me what she wanted, it is 46x58 so it is not real big but big enough for a lap quilt. I put flannel on the back with a light weight batting and lined the pocket with batting and flannel also.. It turned out good and I got to try some different FMQ stitches which were a lot of fun. Thanks for looking..
I left the pocket opened on the side so she can slip her hands in easily

Very nice. The wheelchair quilt pattern I have has a flannel lined rectangle that is sewn to the quilt by sewing across the top and bottom of the rectangle. Both ends are open, and she puts her hands in it like a muff. Before that lined rectangle is sewn to the quilt, it has a little pocket sew on top for tissues & mints or whatever. I made one for my niece and will be getting it in the mail next week.
