I had about 30 fat squares in blue and green florals...not really my taste - I used all the ones out of the bundle I liked and had these left.

So I thought ya'll have been talking about tube quilting so much I would give it a try (plus I can only work on the penguin quilt while my dd is at school).

OMG - fun - although I got a little confused on the last 6 strips - I cut them right but apparently laid them down wrong. But fixed it - So here is my WIP - the next panel set will be in greens (these are blue) **I was able to get 36 20 inch long by 2 inch wide squares for each color scheme (blue & green)

I like what you have got so far. The tube quilting is so much fun. I can't wait to do another one.

Those materials would have sat under my sewing table for another year or 10 if it weren't for you ladies! The techniques and tricks are fab and doing this gave me a really viable use of fabrics I didn't like.

I was thinking of doing this for my MIL since I didn't like the placemats I did for her - but I'm falling in love with it as I go.

I must have missed a step. I thought tube quilts were triangles. There must be a new version that I missed!

thought so too - spent all day working on the triangles - had fun...then saw a reference to one and they were squares - did a search on here and found this:

it helped a ton and was a new way!
