Tube quilting - One Christmas, One Wild
#1
Here's my first tries at tube quilting - one is for DH to give as a present for Christmas exchange and one is for our eldest son's birthday, he still likes Rock n Roll (he's only 25). I thought I'd brighten his day. I'm binding the blue and white one with the light blue and the peace sign one with the green color.
These are so fast, easy and fun to do. Quick Christmas presents. Thank you for the tutorial link :D

When I saw the peace signs, I immediately thought of DS who loves the old 60s rock and roll. His high school music teacher started him off on the Beatles in the classroom and ever since he loves the old music.

Very pretty. I watched a video tutorial on tube quilting, but haven't tried it. I'm not sure what the draw is on this technique--by that I mean, how is it different from other kinds of quilting. I certainly understand paper piecing and why one would choose that technique, but what is it about tube quilting that makes it unique?
