I have been working on a quilt made with the tubular technique. It might be fun for some but I renamed it the quilt from h - - l. I finally finished it but what a job.
Several ladies in my guild decided to try it, myself included. I do not want to discourage any of you from trying this but now that I have made one, I won't do another. For all the time it took, I would rather do easier blocks.
Anyhow, I got it completed and practiced my FMQ on it too. I learned a lesson after looking at it and decided that my next FMQ will be done in smaller sections. On this one, I just did lines with a stem and leaf freehand about 4 inches apart both verticle and horizontal. Then did a wavy stem and leaves on the outside border.
I did the back with scrappy leftovers so it looks rather weird. All in all, I call it a learning experience. :-)

I forgot to clarify that by saying tubular - I meant where you sew many strips together and then cut them vertically etc. and then sew them all back together again in a certain pattern. Not the nice tubular technique to make the table runners. That looks like fun!
